Course Description
In the long term care facility, efficient reduction of edema significantly enhances functional outcomes in rehabilitation. This course will discuss how to evaluate edema and use available resources in order to treat it effectively. Participants will learn the evaluation process, how to determine the course of action, required testing and which team members should be involved. Discussions will include how to move treatment into proper channels of care for long term management and appropriate applications with consideration to staff and costs. Resources for modalities that will help with short term edema will also be given.
